竹の茶室 帰庵 – KIAN

竹の茶室「帰庵」は、必要最低限の竹で作った空間を茶室に見立てた建築物です。 帰庵には、柱や屋根はあるが、天井や壁はなく、質素の極みであり、茶室としては不完全であるが、不完全を美しいと思う心を感じることができます。そして、その場所の景色を帰庵に取り込むことで、帰庵に入った人の想像の中で茶室として完成されます。 帰庵は実用性にこだわり、持運びできるように軽くて丈夫な竹で作っており、3m×3mのスペースがあれば、お気に入りの絶景の中に建てることができます。 帰庵に入り、純粋に自然や人との出会いや五感でその場の空気を感じてほしいと思っています。

Kian — Mobile Bamboo Teahouse “Kian” is a teahouse-like construction built with minimal amount of bamboos. Kian does not have walls or ceiling but frames. The essence is to feel appreciation of beauty of imperfection. Once you enter kian, the view will complete with the surrounding view in your imagination. The material is very light and durable and it could be built anywhere larger than 3m x 3m. I would like you to freshly feel the atmosphere with all your five senses.

The name of the tea house “The hut of returning home” comes from the phrase ,”Returning home to the fundamental point.” in this modern world of smartphones and airconditioning , we live separate from nature. But when we return to the natural world, when we walk on a mountain path or sit by the sea, our hearts are put at ease. Respecting nature, and living together with nature, is of deep importance of turning back towards nature returning home to the fundamental point.
